Online business success is not something that happens overnight but at the same time it’s predictable when you’re committed to it.
In the past days I started to research more about the richest people on our planet and dive more into their mindset and lifestyle.
There are so many remarkable leaders but one of them got my attention instantly: Sir Richard Branson (in the post I’ll use the shortcut RB more often).
Now, what he has to do with online business success?
Well, let’s see: The founder of the successful Virgin Group (over 400 companies), Co founder of the “Elders” and a great humanitarian just to mention his most important activities. Few insights from this popular entrepreneur are always welcome:).
Secondly, one of his books and favorite motto “ Screw it, Let’s do it” has a lot of lessons that can be easily applied in our industry and in any other area of life as well. I highly recommend to read all the book for his great personal stories and wisdom.
Meanwhile here are a few…
5 Online Business success tips from Sir Richard Branson:
1. Just do it
Don’t whine and complain that your blog don’t have enough traffic and leads , your team is too small and so on. Believe everything can be done and you will find a way.
Need to know the basic stuff about marketing ? Or few more advanced skills?
Go out there, do the right researches and start implementing everything you learn.
“If something is what you really want to do, just do it. Whatever your goal is you will never succeed unless you let go your fears and fly” -RB
2. Have fun
We tend to take everything very seriously… Don’t be trapped by problems and tasks that you forget how is to feel good.
Your business needs a happy owner who knows how to combine hard work with fun. Interact with your readers, prospects and other entrepreneurs, exchange new ideas, seek to have fun online and offline as well.
““A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts.”- RB
3.Be bold
Let’s face it… online business success requires courage and faith in your own abilities.
As an entrepreneur you will have to take risks and get out from the comfort zone all the time, either it’s about facing your own fears or various skeptics.
““What was worse — a possible storm ahead or the ‘storms’ of Iraq? … We decided to risk the thunder and press on.” – RB
4. Challenge yourself
Achieving online business success and being a leader are two wonderful challenges to accept. Thus, you can create a higher version of yourself and impact other people’s lives at the same time.
Learn from other entrepreneurs, set high goals and do your best to reach them.
“Everyone needs something to aim for. You can call it a challenge or you can call it a goal. It is what makes us human. It was challenges that took us from being caveman to reaching for the stars” –RB
5. Live in the moment
This is a difficult task for many people. We get too caught up by the problems from the past or expectations from the future that we forget about the “now”.
Take time to meditate, sit with yourself in silence ,observe the nature or one of my favorites “ watch children playing”. Your business will thank you.
“I know that goals are important. Money is important. But the bottom line is money is just a means to end, not an end in itself. And what is going on now is just as important as what you’re planning for the future. So even my diary is full for months ahead I have learned to live for the moment” – RB
Your turn: What is your favorite lesson from Richard Branson?
What things are important for online business success in your opinion?
Do you have other leaders that influenced your perception about business and life?
I always enjoy to see your ideas and suggestions below, in the comments area.
And yes, please share this post on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In or Stumble Upon. I appreciate your support

Hello! It is for the firs time reaching this blog and i found some interesting posts. Reading them I was asking myself some questions. Why some bloggers are working so hard to put usefull information for the public and in the end they realized the compensation is too small? Is it worth it? The people who read this posts understand the volume of work necessary to mentain a blog alive? I really hope so.
Keep up the good work. You have my appreciation and I wish you a lot of success.

Loved your post. You have definitely hit the nail on the head about Richard Branson. He is a guy I aspire to meet. I haven’t read ‘Screw It Lets Do It’ yet but I’ll add to my next book to buy on amazon.
“Just do it” is my motto for this year. All I want to do is take action on whatever goals I have for my business and life. That’s the only way I can move forward and see if my ideas are profitable or not.
We also need to “be bold” and not be afraid to be ourselves and share our message in our own unique way. We need to get out there in a big way to get the clients we need.
Thanks for sharing these online business success tips.

Hi Radu,
I like these type of articles…so thank you.
My favorite lesson is “TO HAVE FUN!”
I believe in that so much. I used to work in jobs and do tasks that I hate. I don’t think I’ll be happy even if they paid more than what I was worth.
With my own business, I really started to have fun. I did things which I like and outsourced things which I’m not good at such as web design.
When I’m having fun, working in my business is not work. It’s entertainment and it’s addictive.
So having fun is essential. Just imagine getting paid to enjoy yourself!

Thanks for that. I have read ‘Screw It Lets Do It’ myself. It’s a great book and left me overflowing with inspiration for what I can achieve with my future.
Persistence is, for me, one of the most important factors of any successful business. If we can persist and keep going, we can achieve whatever we want to achieve. Another great book that you should read (you may well have read this one already) is Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’. That is the best of all self-development books.
Hope you’re having an awesome day

HI Radu, mmmmm, I LOVE RB! Sorry didn’t mean to yell it. He is such an inspiration and he has got it right.
I love his carefree attitude. He always encourages people to just do it and have fun in the process. He is definitely one of these people who goes about things with the intention to win and doesn’t make a huge hairy deal about it in the first place.
I have only recently heard of his Screw It book… LOL. I will definitely be adding it to my long list.

Hi Radu,
Thank you for sharing these 5 powerful tips! I keep hearing about RB, I really do need to read a book of his!
The part that really stood out to me was: “Believe everything can be done and you will find a way.” That is so true! That’s why I teach my kids not to say the word “can’t” because once it is replaced with “can” a solution is always found! The same is true for myself as well.
Thanks!

All 4 points are a must to be happy making a successful business. The point I love the most is to just have fun all other points will be a easy to handle. Some new business owner and old may get caught up in the mind set of, I have to get successful quick, for the ones who are successful stress themselves about keeping that success. As long as we are having fun and taking the right steps to be successful, nothing else should be an issue.

I’d have to say that the leader that really inspired me was Steve Jobs. I’m not even saying this to jump on the I Love Steve band wagon.
I watched his Stanford commencement address about a year ago and his line about not being trapped by dogma has really stuck with me.

Radu,
Richard Branson is one of my all time favorites. I loved his amazing autobiography “Losing My Virginity.” Anybody who hasn’t read that should pick it up.
The big takeaway for me here is, “Have Fun” and “Be Bold.” It is a learned skill to take the approach of having fun when it’s all on the line, but nothing will kill your business faster than appearing to “need” success.
Being bold comes down to being uncomfortable. Nobody ever got rich doing what is comfortable or convenient. When you continually do new and different things you grow personally and this will take you places you’ve only dreamed of going. Great post.

Hey Rob,
Glad to see you here for the first time.
I heard about the book. Perhaps adding it on my reading list is a great thing to do.
Great insight: being bold comes down to being uncomfortable. And you if have fun the uncomfortable things won’t seem like this anymore.
Doing different things is what gives you more energy and creativity. Did you notice that people that are stuck, do the same things over and over without even analyzing it. But, we all start from somewhere. This is the road of evolution.
Thank you for your super comment. The other readers will definitely find more value in it.
Wish you all the best,
Radu

My favorite tip mentioned is Just Do It. Too many people out there dream of doing something great one day but never actually take one step forward. That is sad.
Branson is one of my favorite business leaders. The guy has insane charisma. He is always up and always energetic. A couple weeks ago I saw an interview with him on CNBC where he gave a solution to US unemployment problem. His solution was brilliant. It took him minutes to come up with a solution that our own government is still unable to solve. The guy rocks.

Great tips, Radu.
I like to ‘have fun’ section. Yes it is important do stay focused and effectively continue to work toward your goal. Professionalism is important. But I do like to have fun with it.
.
Both online and offline, I am someone who enjoys to have fun with it. Sure I could shoot boring videos up a gains the wall and drill people that they need to make a change in their life if they want to succeed.
Or, I could climb to the top of a mountain and yell at the camera and wave my arms a few times and share with people WHY they should make a change. I just like to have fun with it
Thanks for sharing from the mind of Branson

Hi Radu,
Hey! Another RB out there
I didn’t think about us having the same initials. Maybe a meeting of the RBs in the near future?
I live my life as Richard lays it out. Wonderful advice from a visionary and icon. His quotes resonate like mad with me, because he speaks great truths.
For me, having fun is A1. Enjoy what you do. Be passionate about it, and enjoy making people around you successful, as much as you enjoy becoming successful. This is why I share people’s content like mad. I want us all to prosper and become billionaires…..or spiritual billionaires, if you so choose.
I want to elevate the prosperity consciousness of everybody. Seeing the appearances of abject poverty in places where I’ve traveled to recently, really hits this point home. I have work/fun to do, and I plan to persist like heck in doing it.
Momentary living is one of my primary intents. I take breaks. I watch. I release. I intend to make a positive impress and be present. Sometimes I am not present, which is OK, but other times I am fully here, Now, and as I practice, I improve. Sir Richard is on the money here.
Spot on tips here. Thanks!
Ryan

Man, you really inspire me. The insane amount of energy you have, the willingness to create new contacts and just give, give and again give. For this reason you will become a billionaire
Spiritual billionaire.. I love how it sounds…Life should be about fulfilling every area: health, money, relationships and spirituality. They are all slices of the same pie
I’m with ya on that: as we grow and give more we can elevate the consciousness of everybody. It all starts inside
Thank you for the wonderful insights. Glad you enjoyed Richard Branson’s tips.

Radu, aloha. Sir Richard Branson is one of my favorites too. In addition to the ones you have above which are so true, here’s another one that applies he does so well. If online marketers learned to do it as well as Sir Richard does, they would be enormous successes too.
Network. Though we hear about the importance of building and maintaining a network, few of us to do to the optimum extent. Richard did and does constantly build and maintain networks. When something happens, good or bad, he can reach out to his network. Aside from what he may want for his company, he networks, and very effectively, to create change and to make a difference in the world.
A consistent theme throughout his books is people; they are everything to him. Taking care of people in his personal life, his professional life as well as those he encounters on life’s road, matters enormously to him.
His relationship building skills set an example for all of us.
A final point of Sir Richard that is important for us to remember is our ethics. He said:
“Ethics aren’t just important in business. They are the whole point of business.”
Sir Richard’s strong ethics and relationship skills are key to his many business successes.
Thanks so much, Radu, for using one of my favorite people to highlight online success tips.
Best wishes for a terrific week. Until next time, aloha. Janet
